It’s possible they’re embedding ads now though

Try saying “potty?” to an LLM and decoding its response to gauge if it needs to go potty or not, Google!
Ironfacebuster@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Study Finds Consumers Are Actively Turned Off by Products That Use AIEnglish91·1 year agoAbsolutely, I was pretty upset when Google added Gemini to their Messages app, then excited when the button (that you can’t remove) was removed! Now I’ve updated Messages again and they brought the button back. Why would you ever need an LLM in a texting app?
Edit: and also Snapchat, Instagram, and any other social media app they’re shoveling an AI chat bot into for no reason
Edit 2: AND GOOGLE TELLING ME “Try out Gemini!” EVERY TIME I USE GOOGLE ASSISTANT ON MY PHONE!!!

That’s why I was so confused when it connected to my desktop, since it was last paired and actually used a long time ago.
I guess it’s a complicated issue for me, since they’re paired with more than 2 things but only ever connected to 2 things
Ironfacebuster@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Everything Apple iOS 18 Will Do, Android Already DoesEnglish3·1 year agoI have the Pixel Buds Pro and they kinda do that, but yeah not very well. I have them paired to my phone and my laptop, and sometimes randomly they’ll silently disconnect from my laptop and permanently pause whatever I was watching if my phone plays a notification. I can’t fix it until I disconnect from and reconnect to my laptop multiple times.
One time I was watching a video on my laptop and they randomly connected to my desktop! I hadn’t used them on my desktop in at least a year, until then!
All in all, they can flow seamlessly, but it’s 60/40 on if it works properly
At least the noise cancelling and passthrough are fun to mess with
Man of course our cells have both a weak spot and a drain plug. Engineers, man.

Also I think some cars do have cell modems, but it’s mostly to provide in car wifi

Just trying to get more information about their experience as well, maybe it’s not actually Android Auto and it’s a weird half baked system built into the car
Ironfacebuster@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•European crash tester says carmakers must bring back physical controlsEnglish51·1 year agoWere you using Android Auto with a USB cable or wireless? I have an aftermarket AA radio in my car that I use wired and it works almost perfectly, but I also have physical climate control so I can’t fully relate
I always liked the windows phone, it’s honestly too bad it didn’t last
