So the majority of them left for the EU. Thanks for your talent USA.

No one sane from the EU wants to go to the USA anymore.

And anyone sane from the other parts of the world are now choosing the EU over the USA.

    Triple whammy.

And in addition to making the USA unappealing for scientists and losing all the talent. They are also getting rid of all the cheap labour.

No talent for innovation. No cheap labour for producing competitive products.

I can’t wait to see what the USA will be like after Trump.

Those PHDs were originally from EU and driving US research in STEM because no US scientists can afford the education debt to get a PhD.

So they are leaving because the visas have expired, but they are going back to barrista jobs in EU.

The big problem is the US spent the vast majority of money on research funding for the world, and other countries got dependent on the US.

Now about $60B has been removed globally and G8 countries are not making up the shortfall. This means scientific suppliers and equipment manufacturers are dying.

This means zero progress in diseases research and no pipelines to pharma. NIH spending was a no-brainer, $40B into trillion dollar industry that all moved from Europe. What Republicans understood in the past was this spending was driving US industry, while modern Republicans want this industry replaced with supplements and herbs and feathers.

There is an opportunity for UK, EU and Canada to steal a trillion dollar industry cheap but politicians have zero vision worldwide.

Meanwhile the bastards in power keep on making their megachurches bigger all the while trying to demolish the separation of the state and of religion.

My wife and I aren’t STEM Ph.D’s, but we are indispensable for the day to day operations of critical infrastructure. If Europe ever gets their shit together…we gone.
