I have to use it for work by mandate, and overall hate it. Sometimes it can speed up certain aspects of development, especially if the domain is new or project is small, but these gains are temporary. They steal time from the learning that I would be doing during development and push that back to later in the process, and they are no where near good enough to make it so that I never have to do the learning at all

My cars are old and don’t have any of this, and my one experience in a rental car with lane keeping assist was that it pushed me towards a highway barrier in construction where the original lane lines weren’t in use. Terrifying.

I’m an iOS developer and pretty heavily bought into Apple’s ecosystem and I thought it was really weird for Apple to be advertising all these features that weren’t even in beta yet.

It was false advertising and I expect better from Apple.

I mean, I was a kid in the 90s and I feel like we’re behind what I expected in most respects.

I searched for pictures of Uranus recently. Google gave me pictures of Jupiter and then the ai description on top chided me telling me that what was shown were pictures of Jupiter, not Uranus. 20 years ago it would have just worked.

I choose to believe all the studies that say coffee is healthy and none that say it is not. I won’t change my coffee drinking habits regardless, so best think positively?

Maybe the real origin of the Borg were the nanobots we made along the way?

It’s super useful to know instantly if the messages are encrypted or not.

Super disappointed if they’re doing this off-device. If we’re getting more language model crap, at least make it local, please.
