I think Podman should do a good job but I never used it myself, Distrobox is build on it and a lot easier to use so that’s what I would recommend!

Unless you are in a cooperate environment or very careless with the stuff you download and commands you run you shouldn’t need one!
Definitely, you have to want to learn Linux fast and possibly a little more painful if you choose that path. Especially that SteamOS comparison annoys me, you spend basically all your time in a completely sandboxed environment with that (Steam uses Flatpaks for everything) so it has very little to do with Arch for most users!
They aren’t unstable perse but there are always issues with some update and as a beginner with no clue about Linux I even struggled to solve Mints very rare issues, I think it’s better to learn Linux first or that person might have a very frustrating experience!
I don’t think we should recommend any rolling release to beginners, I love Arch but that’s just going to cause issues!
It’s better than it used to be but for gaming a Debian base can still get in your way and if you don’t mind the change in interface anyway it might be worth checking out Nobora. That’s a gaming focused edition of Fedora by Glorious Eggroll, the creator of a really cool version of Valves Proton called ProtonGE and highly regarded in the community! It’s basically Fedora with a few modifications and great defaults for gaming and only a Gnome version.
Looks like someone just discovered Linux after his Windows install fucked up and had to write about it…
Gnome Feeds works well for me.
I prefer Fedora but OpenSUSE is a great distro too, rolling releases just tend to need a little more troubleshooting and I really like the middleground.
I tried to change some more advanced setting together with a fairly technical friend on his Windows 10 Laptop recently and it was a fucking nightmare!
Because people like to pretend that we can dispose of it in old mines and it will bind to the correct materials but that’s the theory part because rn we store it in very temporary containers that are desinged for decades not centuries
All solutions taht go byond theory manage one or maybe two hundread years, the rest is pure fiction and possibly won’t ever work…
People will kill me for it but to all the disgusting idiots in the comment section here just know that nuclear power isn’t renewable, that we can’t even cover a fraction of the energy we need with it, that there isn’t a single proofen way to actually store the waste (just temporary facilities) and that the cost of building them (especially in the west) is far to high to stop any timw soon!!!
Good luck, at least it’s not a new one but they are though to repair for years now! Btw isn’t one with a Butterfly keyboard?
That’s actually a very good article!
They include extensive Telemetry as well, fired most of their employees while significantly increasing the executive pay once which lead to the death of various projects most notably Servo, they perform experiments on their users without notice, the build in tracking blocker is anything but great and they repeatedly defended Google for very shitty moves (probably because that’s who pays them), they spread rumors about Google ending payment once to cash out and they keep inventing products in the hope of even more money most of which goes to talentless executives rather than development.
This list is out of my head and might not be 100% accurate and complete but what I can promise you is that Mozilla sucks too! :/
I use Firefox because I always did and because I don’t want to support the Blink (Chromium web engine) monopoly that even Apples Webkit can barely keep up with but please don’t think Mozilla (Firefox owners) are accaptable by any means, they just aren’t as bad in my mind!
I don’t think SystemD is bad, it has big advantages over the previous solutions but I do use Alpine quite a bit and SystemD wouldn’t make sense for a distro like that so I definitely prefer software that can runn without it too!
They crash enough on Windows already, I would highly recommend against it! :/
