Probably Steam Deck users with that handheld device in one hand and their handheld device in the other.
That’s one horney Linux user
Do you guys realize how much 40% actually is in a single year? That’s crazy. Don’t just look at the 5.1%.
I’m sure it’s heavily influenced by the Steam Deck, it being a great device for porn and all, but still.
It does correlate with the numbers Steam released a few days or weeks ago.
Windows 11 not installing on “older” machines is big too.
I am very suspicious of the -26% Apple marketshare. It makes me feel like there’s more to this than it seems at first. There’s no way 26% of Apple users stopped using Apple devices within a year.
Edit: maybe it could be caused by a large user base increase that shifted the demographics, but this fast? And the PornHub bans across US states started only this year for the most part if I’m not mistaken, so it shouldn’t affect this data?
2024 was the release of iOS 17.4, when Apple allowed third party browsers to use their own engine instead of WebKit/Safari as a layer beneath. So it could very well be that Firefox Mobile and Chrome Mobile on iOS don’t get registered as iOS Device in this survey due to their user agent.
I don’t think third parties engine-based browsers are even available for iOS, given that Apple only allows that for EU users.
This is only for iOS and the user agent will still report the OS as iOS. For macOS it was always possible to run third party web engines.
But we don‘t know how pornhub analyzes their data. All the other statistics don‘t support their statistic.
That link is amazing… they even have maps 😂 !
Linux users are gooners confirmed.

love to see windows shrinking
Except it also went up? Looks like only apple dropped.
I remember a time when apple market share was low single digits - just shocked to see 20%
Windows has been getting continuously worse so it’s not surprising that those with the income available are continuously willing to spend more to get out of it.
100% agreed
Based on the drop in Safari usage on mobile and desktop, and the increase in Firefox and Opera usage. I’m sort of assuming they swapped over to use the builtin VPN in opera or an extension in Firefox to bypass the blocks.
Is anyone working at a FOSS and federated alternative to pornhub?
Sounds like a legal and maintenance nightmare
I’ve seen some federated ones.
Guys, we’re losing big to mobile devices. Although I’m glad Australia is still going strong at 12% desktop computer.
I wish I could run Linux on my phone.
Something something Android is Linux 😅
65.2% (globally) are Android so technically we’re winning!
Kinda hard to use your desktop in bed or hiding in the bathroom.
I don’t like YoY share percentage point delta. It’s misleading and making it seem like a significant number of Mac users left, although they probably just stagnated while more Windows and Linux users came. I’d rarher see YoY absolute number delta.
I’m very confused about the significant drop in Apple users as well, but I’m not sure that it’s purely caused by a userbase increase. E.g. in mobile, for or this big of a change to occur you would need the userbase to increase by 38% and for none of those new users to be iPhone users. I don’t feel like that’s a realistic YoY increase in users at this late stage.
You guys sure are a thirsty lot.
If they’re anything like me, it’s the old laptop that you’d install Linux on as an experiment.
And maybe that laptop was only ah… Semi-retired at the time.
So, Linux doesn’t have a general icon and ChromeOS’s icon isn’t used, what could be an ideal icon/logo for the Linux Kernel, I wonder?
WhatsApp recently pulled support for some older iOS versions and devices, a lot of ppl threw them away and got Androids instead(as they should), I wonder if that’s related to iOS’s decrease.
Tux. They could’ve just used Tux.
Android devices dominate in a lot of countries, especially Asian countries, where our growth in those regions in the last few years has boosted Android’s user base.
I think the decrease is mostly due to this.
