The continent is experiencing some of its biggest fires and highest temperatures ever. Residents are fleeing, leaders are struggling to respond and “it will get worse,” one climate expert said.
The thing is that this is not a temporary crisis. It is the consequence of a slow geological change that is not even in full effect now. It will become worse and worse until mankind stops burning fossil fuels, which are the cause of all this.
until mankind stops burning fossil fuels
which will never ever happen…
Well no. At some point it will become too much expensive to extract them to be able to continue to use them.
Not considering that sooner or later someone will realize that it would be less expensive, in the long run, to devolop a serious alternative to the oil (be sun, wind, nuclear or whatever else) than be subject to the blackmail of a single state and/or person which would decide that it is a great idea to start a war just because. And this, as a byproduct, will also resolve most of the problems in the middle east region since without oil they had nothing.
And it caused at least 10,000 heat-related deaths across Europe in June alone — a number that may turn out to be an undercount.
Statistics already estimate 8,000 , possibly even 10,000 deaths in Germany alone - only for June.
