How can democracy exist when industries control the economy? When a business can just decide to pull out of a town and put tens of thousands of people out of work, how does “one person, one vote” have any meaning whatsoever? True power is held by those who control the economy.
Democracy is fundamentally incompatible with the economic systems based on inequality like capitalism. Democracy can only meaningfully exist in a classless society. And until that is achieved, democracy is best achieved by those societies who only allow the working class to hold political power.

Here’s the thing. The bubble will pop, people will loose billions, the prices of everything will go into flux, the economy will crash, and the people who still have enough money to make serious investments during that time will be able to buy so much more stuff simply because so much more will be for sale.
We saw it happen in 2008, we saw it happen in 2020, and it will happen again when the bubble pops, and we’ll just let the people who crashed the economy off the hook, and borrow more money from our future selves to pay them to fix it now.

Happens every time. Realistically, the only thing that would “level” the playing field is a complete collapse of all currency. Unrealistically, it could be leveled through progressive taxes on obscene incomes, a recurring tax of accumulated wealth over a certain value, and closing of tax loopholes.
Don’t forget how many good people will be left holding the bag due to their retirement funds being drained into that bubble while the elites cash out :( just like the 2008 crash this is just another pump and dump at our expense while the rich will make out like the robber Barron’s they are anyways

I doubt who you voted for would have stopped this. AI is the new .com / housing bubble that every big company has to jump on board for.
On a federal basis, you are likely correct. On a local basis, I highly disagree. Many politicians in areas that are left-leaning are putting in place data center bans. Local elections matter.
One day these companies will take everything away from someone who has nothing to lose. Remember killdozer, “Sometimes reasonable men must do unreasonable things”.
