  • The elephant in the room more people need to pay attention to that many of us who work in IT are painfully intimate with.

Many IT people are hardcore libertarians who believe in some warped idea that they are where they are through their intelligence and hardwork while completely ignoring many of them come from backgrounds that afforded them the opportunities they are taking advantage of.

100% many of them are sexist, racist and bigoted pieces of shit that hide it at work because they’re adept at masking the fact that a lot of them are borderline autistic at worst and neurodivergent at best.

This is also why you see such a deep investment in idiocy like AI, Bitcoin and other paradigm shifts. They all have their heads up their asses and feel they’re better than everyone else.

Couple all this with the demographic being primarily white males.

Fuck talk to any woman who works in IT. It’s changing yes, but Jesus Christ it’s a cesspool in many ways.

  • I don’t use apple for the same reason I don’t use fisher price as an adult. You are free to use your technology made for babies that’s beside the point. The point is that the article in discussion is about Tim Cook and Apple providing a recent bribe to Trump.

Your comment is providing no value. You are attempting whataboutism and really shows the type of person you are more than anything.

To be clear, if googl was caught bribing and someone said “buh buh buh Apple!” Id be saying the same thing. Stop sucking dick like they owe you something to take a side.

When Google bribes Trump with a 24k gold gift let’s discuss Google then ok?

  • Linux absolutely isn’t perfect, no technology is. But in my years of experience with both, Linux on the whole is far less finicky, and far easier to fix when it breaks.

I agree 110% but it’s also worth mentioning that windows isn’t as finicky as we complain about. If it was, companies wouldn’t by and large rely on it. People are delusional if they think Windows is only around because of some conspiracy or historical precedent. “It works” plain and simple. As you scale you’re going to run into issues regardless of the OS. It’s naive to think Linux is the be all that end all. As much as anyone I want to be Linux only. My home computers have been Linux for decades now. I’m a realist. There’s value and challenges with every OS. I hate the industry trend of Windows over Linux but I get it
