Im glad DeepSeek open sourced their model. Even if the goal was to destabilize US companies, I think it’s a blessing the tools can go to anyone with a “powerful enough” computer.

And to be really honest, I don’t like what the tech companies have done with AI in such a short amount of time. I’m glad they are getting the piss beaten out of them. All these AI companies will do whatever it takes to destroy human labor pools so they can absorb a fraction of our wages.

The sad part is, they are after a fraction of a wage that is already undervalued. We are all struggling because of corporate greed anyway.

Umm, correct me if this seems like a bad take…but is there a need for a new console generation considering the overlap of the xbone/ps4 with this gen? Only the Nintendo Switch is in dire need of a hardware upgrade, especially with handheld gaming computers like Steam Deck offering much needed competition.

I’m surprised that open source technology isn’t used at American universities. My local university only has proprietary software which I guess makes sense because of industry standards, but the reality is learning on open source will be more beneficial in the long run.

The biggest barrier to consumer renewable energy is price (and it has gone down considerably already.) Big projects ensures more development, which can lead to even lower prices.

With the state of the US power grid, we need more big renewable projects everywhere. Better subsidies on home renewables to take stress off the grid. The sooner the better !

The biggest problem I have with “smart tv”s is the fact that nearly ALL of them lag to some extent. Doesn’t matter if it’s a remote press, switching an input, even turning the thing off has some amount of delay.
