i use nordzy-hyprcursor via the hyprcursor application
i was so convinced that i had to do something hacky cause its wayland that i didnt even consider that the solution could be an already implemented feature. thank you very much
edit: only that it seems to work with anything else just not soundux
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Weird stuff with steam, proton, and filesystems1·10 months agono thats the thing, steam works without a problem. it is only when i do it NOT through steam where i get issues.
but i play mainly on windows anyway, i just wanted to try it out a bit out of boredom and got surprisingly good results.
i just wait how the windows kernel restrictions influence kernel level anti cheat, and depending on the result i may switch to full linux again if kernel AC breaks and devs are forced to use “normal” AC again
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Weird stuff with steam, proton, and filesystems1·10 months agoYeah it’s just games🤷 if push comes to shive i can just reinstall 'em i was just confused by the difference in behaviour depending wether the system or steam mounts it
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Weird stuff with steam, proton, and filesystems2·10 months agoThis could very well be the anwser. there are in fact c: and z: in
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/0/pfx/dosdevices
although i couldn’t find an indicator that those are actually in use when launching a game through steam
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•Weird stuff with steam, proton, and filesystems4·10 months agoAh ok i think i get why it doesn’t work through the auto mount, but i still don’t understand why it works completely fine if i mount it through steam? What is different when steam mounts it?
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlto Linux@lemmy.ml•Which file system do you recommend for Linux?19·1 year agodeleted by creator
I installed windows on an external drive for gaming. Now my arch install is stuck at a start job for some drive, wich causes it to time out and not boot completely. Couldn’t be assed to fix it yesterday.
Also i installed nvim in windows for exactly that
not on the level of a power user
Learns kernel basics
Bro i think you may be underestimating yourself
Beautiful
I feel called out.
I’m not quite there yet but im definitly at the second to last block
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlto Linux@lemmy.ml•Any distros you reccomend with these requirements1·2 years agoI’d say Archl``inux
Foss
Bleeding edge updates
Only uses X11 if you install it (same for wayland)
Supports disk encryption
Cannot freeze regular releases as there is only one wich get constant updates (rolling release)
As stabel & LTS as you make it
Supports latest harware
Not quite sure what you mean with larger projects but arch is a minimal distro as in you have to install almost everything yourself
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•any cool ideas what i could do with termux?2·2 years agoLuckily i never had to use them for school as my government recognized thier insecurities, and i prob won’t need to use them for my job as i am a mechanic (albeit for construction machinery)
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•any cool ideas what i could do with termux?61·2 years agoIm gonna be honest i really don’t care about that. There is no sensitive data on my phone except maybe social media logins and i have a recent backup so🤷
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlOPto Linux@lemmy.ml•any cool ideas what i could do with termux?11·2 years agoIf you mean the ascii text that is just figlet piped into lolcat
figlet GrapheneOS | lolcat
And the other is just cowsay piped into lolcat
cowsay i did something | lolcat
You can pipe pretty much any terminal output into lolcat (although some things don’t really play well with it)
SaltyIceteaMaker@lemmy.mlto Linux@lemmy.ml•Fuck it, give me your most OVERRATED Distros132·2 years agoAnd arch. Arch is godly.
(I use Arch btw.)
i actually hate icons with like shading or 3d look. but I don’t really use icons anyway, the only icons i see are in my system tray and when i run wofi
