I don’t think anyone in the NMS community really cares if other people cheat. (I also wouldn’t even call what you did cheating tbh.)
But I do wish Hello Games hadn’t combined Normal / Survival / Creative all into one universe. I preferred playing with other people who were subject to the same constraints as me (even if the PC people could easily circumvent those constraints).
I would just play Permadeath but I’ve been on my Normal save since release night and couldn’t really stand to give it all up.
2·11 months agoThese pictures were taken at our Portal Party, our final celebration in our old space-claim, which we’ve explored as a community for the last 6 years. The list of players on the right side was everyone who showed up to our Discord voice chat - more than No Man’s Sky could fit into a single game session!
As of April 6th, we’ve moved on to our new space claim: the Sea of Xionahui and 26 surrounding regions!
As the entire civilization is basically starting with a clean slate (as far as the in-game content goes anyway), there’s never been a better time to become a part of our community. Tons of new interlopers have been showing up already, and some have already started their own colonies or moved into positions of leadership.
You can even buy our civilization’s emblem in the QuickSilver store as a base decal or banner, and you can also add it to your exocraft or (as seen in this image) your fauna companions!

Introduction
Greetings interlopers, and welcome to HALLOWEEN MONTH, aka HUB MONTH! For those who don’t know, the Galactic Hub was founded on October 30th. This year will mark 8 years of exploring together! Traditionally, we celebrate this by going all-out with Halloween events all month, plus a specifically Hub-focused event on the actual day of Founding Day.
This month’s Halloween activities will feature multiple chances to win prizes, including physical prizes like stickers, pins, or comic books! Halloween-themed Companion Eggs will also be passed out generously all month by Galactic Hub staff - but there’s a limit of 1-egg-per-interloper-per-event, so you’ll have to hit multiple events to collect them all! And of course, many events will present opportunities to earn HubCoin.
Maybe multiplayer events aren’t your thing though. No problem - you can also earn the various Hub Month prizes by completing the Halloween-themed Miskatonic City and/or upcoming Overgrown Isle narratives!
There will also be Star League competitive events every weekend, consisting of the usual multi-tool / starship PVP, starship / exocraft racing, or minigames. This month’s usual New Ziki Monthly Events will largely be canceled to allow Hub staff to focus on our Halloween celebrations, but we’ll still be going to the big city on occasion this month!

OCT 1st - PUMPKIN PATCH COLONY OPENS - Continuing a Hub tradition, we will be opening an open-build, unlimited-settlement, Halloween-themed colony as the first event of this month. Anyone can build, no need to ask for permission. But try to keep it to some sort of Halloween theme - horror movie, pumpkin patch, giant ghost, or whatever it may be. — PRIZE: Anyone who attends the opening day has a chance to score an Cursed Broomstick egg or Eternal Broomstick egg!

OCT 5th - HAUNTED HOUSE COLONY OPENS - The Haunted House Colony is our Halloween colony for more advanced builders. No application is necessary - anyone can build - but we ask interlopers to only join if they’re certain they can create a “haunted house” experience within NMS. Interlopers who participate in the Haunted House Colony should build something which features mazes, logic puzzles, or some other content to challenge the base’s visitors. NMS-RPG content is optional, but encouraged. — PRIZE: Anyone who attends the opening day has a chance to score an Cursed Broomstick egg or Eternal Broomstick egg!

OCT 6th - PUMPKIN RACING CUP BEGINS - The Pumpkin Racing Cup is a time-trial based competition, which anyone may complete on their own time and submit via the Time-Trial Racing Cups wiki page. — PRIZE: The winner of each category gets their choice of a Galactic Hub pin, a set of 12 Galactic Hub pogs, or 3 Galactic Hub stickers!

Certain residents will be home at their apartments and ready to pass out treats, in the hope of not falling victim to good-spirited tricks by the costumed interlopers filling the streets. — PRIZE: Anyone who attends the opening day has a chance to score an Bio-Horror egg, a Mini-Fiend Egg, or a Broodling egg!

OCT 26th - HAUNTED HOUSE TOURS - Tour the builds of the Haunted House Colony, passing through each attraction with a group of friends! In some cases, the architect - or the resident ghosts - may be around to walk you through the experience. After the tour, a vote for Best Haunted House will open! — PRIZE: Anyone who attends the tour has a chance to score an Eldritch Worm egg or a Worm of Sight egg! OCT 30th - FOUNDING DAY PARTY - Celebrate 8 years of Galactic Hub with the community in New Ziki City! The day-long party will include a variety of events, and will be less Halloween-focused than the other events for this month. That doesn’t mean you can’t show up in costume though! — PRIZE: Anyone who attends the party has a chance to score an egg from a historic extinct Galactic Hub species, like the Kesey Beetle or Drogradur NO425 diplo! OCT 31st - HAPPY HALLOWEEN! - No official events will be scheduled on Halloween as many people will be out haunting and spooking. If you find yourself around Hub space on this day, jump in Discord Voice Chat and check out the various Halloween-themed locations we’ve visited throughout the month!
NEW DISCORD EVENT SYSTEM
We’re updating our Discord Event system due to Discord making the in-app Event Calendar less prominent! We’ll now be using Groupflows bot.
All events will now be posted in the #announcements channel both when the event is initially announced, with a reminder some time (usually 30 minutes) before the event begins.
One other major benefit of this new event system is that certain events can allow people to vote for their preferred time for an event.
This is all being done with the goal of getting our already-excellent events an even larger turnout. So, show up for the Hub next month! Good journeys interlopers!

Chapters - The Galactic Hub has a variety of sub-organizations called Chapters, like the GH Exobiology Corps (focused on fauna), the GH Defense Force (focused on defense & combating griefers), the GH Star League (focused on hosting multiplayer “simulation sports” competitions), & more!

Colonies - In the Hub, colonies are communities of multiple players collaborating in some way. This always includes building bases, which are often built under the same theme. Colonies may be as big as a whole system, or as small as a single trade post. The most active colonies are managed by Governors. Governors are interlopers who volunteer to run a colony. A governor’s main focus is keeping their colony active - this often involves writing missions or hosting events for their colonists. Some colonies even have Mayors, which manage even smaller communities known as Territories within a Colony. Anyone may set up their own colony in Hub space and act as a Governor!

Multiplayer Events - From laid-back Social Nights to the NMS take on eSports Star League, the Galactic Hub has multiplayer social events nearly every week - sometimes multiple each week. Come meet your neighbors!

Economy - The GH has its own native currency, HubCoin. It is rewarded exclusively for activity representing the Galactic Hub on various platforms (Reddit, Discord, Wiki, YouTube). HubCoin is never available for sale for dollars, pounds, etc - “real world money” is never required or involved. HubCoin is used to facilitate a metagame economy. For example, to earn coin, players can open their own Businesses with in-game locations in Hub space. To spend coin, players might browse our Discord server’s Marketplace and buy goods like custom ships, custom companions, services-of-convenience (ie construction materials), or even 100%-free real-world Hub merch. (Real-world merch availability may vary.)

Canonization - Hello Games was kind enough to canonize the Galactic Hub. In other words, we’re official in-game content! The “Pilgrim” title can only be unlocked by visiting our old capital planet, New Lennon. Our emblem can be purchased at the QuickSilver store as a base decal or player banner. We’re also referenced in the Mission Board and the dialogue of a Traveller, as well as being referenced in the Waking Titan ARG!
That’s just a quick look at some of our features. We also have interactions with other civilizations, we’re a founding member of the United Federation of Travelers, and much more - but above all else, what really defines the Galactic Hub is our thriving and friendly community. Join us and find your new home in the stars!

I did but Automod just removed my post with the reason, “One item per post, please, so that the subject line can function as a searchable index”. Probably won’t go through the effort of reposting tbh.
The game has a lot of strange limits like that. Like allowing only 10 Message Modules, where Minecraft worlds allow infinite signs (or at least such a high number that, when you search how many are allowed, you can’t really find an answer). Or only allowing you to store 16 Personal Wonders, even though they’re just stored seed values, which are also about as simple as storing a text string.
Nice! The one on the upper-left does it for me. Glowing red, Sith-style diplo logo? Yes
Right? I’ve never had anything even close to that with any other game.
It’s a brand-new feature! All previous Expeditions required a new save.

Sounds like it’ll have even more of a multiplayer focus than No Man’s Sky does!

If we are able to come out with a public version, yes. Unfortunately we have to limit access otherwise due to issues with unapproved base uploads - that was what ruined our last city and why it’s no longer available.
