I know it won’t work with DRM, but my main goal is just to back it up as close to the original as I can. If the disc breaks later, I can burn it to a DVD or Blu-ray and get everything back up and running.

Does
ddrescuestill check every sector even if there are no bad blocks? I’m worried it might just copy sectors without verifying, which could mean the backup isn’t a perfect copy.


After reading your comment and others’, I realize I was wrong about this. I dove into the datahoarding rabbit hole and considered niche use cases. Thanks for the detailed post.
