19 days agoThe problem is that a lot of European investors are more careful with their money and don’t just throw it at every startup that MIGHT eventually become successful. The other issue is that European projects have to comply with the laws and regulations in 20 counties and support 20 language to take of to reach a few 100 million users, while us startups only need to comply with us law (optional) and can reach 400 million users on us and Canada alone.
Even simple pages are now at least 1-2MB big. News pages without an ad blocker and Autoplay videos can easily try to download 10 or more MB per page load. On 56kbits dial up, 10MB will take about 25 mins in the best case.
