    They are planning a replacement for LHC:

    The frontrunner is a colossal machine called the Future Circular Collider or FCC.

    and:

    starting in the late 2040s, would collide electrons into positrons, their anti-matter partners.

    It’s just a very very tiny experiment. 😋

    The first phase will cost an estimated 15bn Swiss francs or £14bn.

    Scientists love expensive toys, the smaller you want to go, the more expensive the equipment.
    I hope this goes through, if we want to advance our understanding of the world, we need science to figure it out.

      Imagine what could be done with just 1% of global GDP. End world hunger one year and build something ten times the mass (I don’t know how that would translate to size) of the LHC the next. Unfortunately, these wars won’t fight themselves, so here we are.
