Netflix is planning to raise prices… again::Netflix is planning to raise the cost of its subscription, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. The report comes just one week after the end of the writers strike.
Get on the boat! comrades!
jellyfin/plex here I come
Jellyfin is king. Plex is corporate-in-waiting, wishing it could have infinite growth infinitely. Jellyfin is just some people makin a thing.
Maybe its time I hit the yar ol seven seas again
Ya’left, ya land lubber?!?
I just realized it’s been 3 months since I last watched anything on Netflix.
Huh…

Yeah, people always come into these threads foaming at the mouth, but in the end it’s just a big old spreadsheet, and it tips on favor of higher prices.
vpn my bros!
How does a VPN affect the price?
🏴☠️
Oh, well yeah. Duh.
Oh boy. Here I go pirating again
Netflix charges different rates in different countries.
Also, they probably just mean piracy.
Pretty sure you need to provide billing info? Unless… can you still pay by check? lol
There’s whole guides out there on how to get your Netflix account setup with localized prices for cheap subscription cost. I think Argentina or Turkey are the cheapest at like $5/mo or something.
Any recommendations?
I can highly recommend Mullvad VPN. They are on the more expensive side with 5€ per month with no promotions or sales. But they are generally well regarded and privacy respecting. You can even send the money as cash in an envelope to them if you are extremely paranoid.
Fuck these corporations. Fuck the people who are so greedy. Fuck em all. Cunts
Is there anywhere one can find a list of popular or good content available on Netflix at any current time?
justwatch.com is great for finding what you can stream where for your region.
Looks like I cancelled my subscription just in time then.
So this is one result of the writer’s strike. I’m all for it if it’s to support writers.
If by “support the writers” you mean, “Netflix doesn’t want to let the writers pay hike lower their earnings or executive pay.”
Then yeah, it’s to support the writers.
Worst streaming service wants more money
Stremio FTW
Sucks for those still using it, I guess. This was always gonna be the case. Capitalism is infinite growth and they will do whatever they can show numbers going up to their shareholders, even as they’re hemorrhaging money. Short term gains that will lead to long term losses. Sustainable profit is not the goal; growth at all costs is. You reap what you sow Netflix, you big turd.
It’s been their way of doing things for long enough that this is not even news to me.
