Starlink rival Eutelsat OneWeb gains as investors bet it could benefit from geopolitical tensions
Shares surge 23% after Ukraine says SpaceX had restricted military-grade satellite services
Analysts say OneWeb cannot quickly replace Starlink despite investor optimism
I would really love to see them succeed in the long run, but the shares are going up and down based on these types of news.
They got a lot of government money (FR/UK) to make their infrastructure fit in the near future (2028). Trendwise that doesn’t convince people to buy and hold stocks.
Edit: even Eutelsat’s CEO said they aren’t ready to take over Ukraine’s operation, when Starlink deactivated the access some time ago. Their business is B2B sales and the hardware is quite big and bulky in comparison.
Eutelsat is a purely speculative stock for trading. I bought shares many moons ago but so long as it’s not profitable, I avoid it for now.
