I know it’s impossible to choose just one, but this might be stupidest thing coming from this administration. I know absurdity and chaos is all part of the fascist routine but i just can’t get over how ridiculous this makes them and my country look.

Dangerous, it makes the USA an enemy to the entirety of the EU and all of NATO except the USA. Its not just stupid, its caused a permanent relationship change that has changed the EUs posture to defending itself from US aggression and to divest entirely. Nothing the USA does now will change that, this is happening and will continue to happen.

Which is one of their goals, alienate us from our allies. Can’t think of a better way to weaken us than what’s been happening the last year and a half.

He also did a prime-time interview with One America News Network, portraying Denmark, whose realm includes Greenland and the Faroe Islands, as an illegitimate colonial power that is committing “atrocities” against Greenlanders and “weaponizing” anti-Trump propaganda to turn people against the U.S. “Unfortunately, the natives, the Inuits and the Greenlanders, in my opinion, are suffering something we call, here in America, Stockholm syndrome,” he said.

Jesus fucking christ, what a paragraph

Oh yeah, Denmark is committing atrocities, sure! And the US has no nefarious intentions with Greenland at allz they just want to be their friends! Sure!

Who believes that shit? Well obviously this guy actually beliefs this shit, but he appears to suffer from some mental illness.

    All of this is insane

They want control of shipping lanes in the arctic when it becomes navigable. Along with access to rare earths that are under the ice.

Similar things can be had without invasion of a sovereign nation. Especially since they are allies already and have given us access and military bases.

This whole idea is terminally stupid.

This article has one nauseatingly quote after another

"My view is that the United States could take all the seafood Greenland could produce, and cut out the middleman, and keep it from China—and you could bring back all-you-can-eat shrimp at Red Lobster.”

For the next three days, Landry wandered around Nuuk, with Boassen as his fixer, and tried to hand out MAGA hats. “If you come to Louisiana and you come to the governor’s mansion? All the chocolate-chip cookies you could eat,” he told a group of boys.

American officials and businessmen ate musk-ox hot dogs and discussed their ambitions for Greenland’s future.

According to Drew Horn, the senior Administration official who was co-leading the Greenland P.C.C., the group routinely discussed the potential for friction with Denmark, and took “deliberate efforts meant to appease Danish concerns.

And it just goes on and on and on… Americans are pigs
