Switzerland is heading toward one of its most important immigration debates in years. In this video, we break down the “No to 10 Million” initiative, why Switzerland’s population is growing so quickly, and what this means for migration, housing, and the economy. Could Switzerland really leave free movement with the EU, and what would that mean for trade, Schengen, and Swiss-EU relations? We explore both sides of the argument, the political stakes, and the possible consequences of the referendum. Let us know in the comments: should Switzerland cap its population growth?

    You’re a fool or a right-wing nut and maybe a russian troll.

95% or more of the free movement we have is with Germany, France, Italy and Austria. They couldn’t be any closer culturally, especially since the movement is specific to our language regions.

Our main import is rich and well educated Germans who pay more into our pension system on average than we do.
