Israel has been criticized by various international organizations, including the United Nations, for its treatment of Palestinians. There are reports of human rights violations documented by recognized organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. These allegations encompass a wide range of serious offenses that necessitate making political and cultural statements to achieve progress through diplomatic pressure.

This should be enough to ban Israel.

That this needs a petition is a joke.

I’m so tired of this. The idea is to unite in music and not to unite through not seeing someone there. Did Israel, the USA, the Hamas, etc. commit war crimes? Most likely (leaving it to the courts to rule that). And what do we gain by excluding Israeli artist from a music competition? Nothing but moving back into the comfort zone. The artist wouldn’t even be given a chance to criticize the own government.

No. Russia has for good reasons been sanctioned and monetary transfers can not and should not be done. I am not in favor of easing that financial restriction.

Many of us believe similar sanctions should be placed on the genocidal apartheid Israeli regime. So save us the sop story about uniting via music.
