When he says he didn’t prop up the Venezuelan opposition leader because she didn’t give him the Nobel peace price (until recently), when he says he no longer thinks of peace because he wasn’t awarded it, he’s basically saying “look at what you made me do”. It also reveals something chilling about his power-oriented world view: In Trump’s mind, there is no such thing as an ‘independent committee’ that the Norwegian government might defer to regarding who gets the nobel peace price. He presumes that of course any government could seize the authority to influence who gets the price, so the Norwegian government’s obvious decision not to intervene in Trump’s favour is implicitly seen as a decision against Trump. In Trump’s mind, there are no rules and there is no such thing as a pluralistic society that practices self-restraint and shares power.
America democratically elected this chud. His moves appear to be about creating some sort of legacy that we’ll all look back on fondly one day. He craves a peace prize and when it doesn’t arrive he proceeds to threaten the committee. Delusional doesn’t come close to explaining this pathology.
