Just a humble squid that over produces slime. Buy my slime, its a medical wonder, cures halitosis, weird eye syndrome, bolding.

I support this. Sadly I’m not subscribed but wish I was just so I could cancel 🥲

I’m not entirely sure I get this, so a company that will and does force other company’s to remove personal data has ties to a broker and Mozilla dropped them for those ties, I mean its not bad but its definitely harsh and removes a useful service from a subscription they offered, hopefully Mozilla can at least find a new implementation or change the pricing to shadow the lack of this feature.
Edit: different article Mozilla did the right thing. I still think Mozilla should adjust pricing or implement a similar service.
Gate keeping time, this is one of few situations where gate keeping is good

Depends on the person, I didn’t get on well with many distros, I like tinkering, arch afforded me that.
Some people are happy jumping in the deepend and having converter distros may alienate some new users.

Not sure to be honest, my experience with MX and Debian are limited, I like how MX looks, had no issues using in in the small amount of time I had used MX linux and I’m a sucker for good theming

You sound like you’d be pretty capable, I personally use arch, less perceived limitations. Endeavour is the better choice between endeavour and manjaro.
MX if you just want a os with beautiful theming.
Either way good luck.
I gave 4 popos mxlinux, mint and endeavour os as he’s pretty good with IT already

i did make a separate install of arch and sway, installed steam and the issue did not persist so i believe the issue to be with my main install. ive seen people with nvidia cards have had similar issues with wayland + electron/CEF but my amd card has been fine till last week.

Most people wouldn’t even know what to do with that kind of money, I doubt spez even has use for it all, its just big number goes up.
He should give it back to society and have a humble income, everyone should do this.
As to “B:” we have Lemmy, run by enthusiasm and donations. Maybe one day we will get media like video to an even smaller size and have a federated YouTube style site.

Syncthing is robust, used it for my encrypted passwords (KeepassXD) on home network, not vouching for its safety just a use case

Yea looking at the site I mistook the large gaps between paragraphs to be the end of the article. Going over it and I can see I missed a large deal. But I am still unsurprised with the reasons why people are returning the headsets. Its expensive, sold for productivity yet is restricting and uncomfortable. Vr has a place in the world and that is mostly media consumption.

Idk, I’m anti google, degoogled phone, no google connection like accounts or using they’re search engine but this is a net positive.
They’ve not earned my respect but large platforms doing this stuff could open peoples eyes to world issues.

Weird blip…

These are the same complaints most report for most vr headsets, headaches, nausea and dry eyes… Disappointing article.

Ive always considered updates to be updates, akin to windows updates… But also say this is a problem how should someone fix it, making arbitrary graphical changes to ui? Update system without the users knowledge or changing the terminology?

I did but you mention menjaro a lot it felt as if you’d skipped what I had posted.
Ive used Linux since Ubuntu 12 but had no understanding of the deep Linux system so I never stuck with it, then budgie came out (the os) which was great but limited, soon after moved to manjaro where I found out aur packages would brick my machine so move on to arch where I have stayed. Ive not had many issues and when I do I know how to handle them, ive never looked at arch news (maybe a sign of complacency) but even so ive been able to fix what minimal issues ive had (in my experience)
For some people who are new user, having system with more controls is a compelling position, one that the community needs to understand and not repeat the same 3 distros or chew out others for suggesting arch.
If a new user shows genuine interest beyond web browsing then arch and its variant deserve a mention.
If your installing linux on your surface pro 7 you’ll also want to follow this repository basically enables a lot of features that won’t work otherwise, like touch, pen and other stuff, how this would work with an immutable system I’m not sure, for me arch works perfectly on my surface.
