It’s incorrect to ask chatgpt such questions in the first place. I thought we’ve figured that out 18 or so months ago.

Technology@lemmy.world•16GB of RAM Could Be the New Minimum in Apple's Upcoming M4 MacsEnglish
3·2 years agoIs it like SI RAM vs US Customary RAM?
Social media would be drowning in negative posts about Bill Gates if they were a thing in the 90s. The only difference, perhaps, is back then the industry was still at its early years, it was quickly evolving, so many brilliant people had a chance to achieve something too. Today, it’s huge corporations where each individual has virtually no impact.

He’s trying to make money, he doesn’t care about the platform or its future. The Boeing’s CEO during the two 737 MAX crashes had to resign… with $62.2 million in his pockets. These people live in a different world.

Proton @lemmy.world•What is a Bitcoin wallet? A complete guide | ProtonEnglish
12·2 years agoThis is not about blockchain, silly. You simply don’t know how people use it. It can be very, very valuable tool, especially among people who have to use privacy-oriented services like Proton. The fact that you confidently ignore such use cases tells more than enough about the depth of your knowledge: it is based on hateful social media comments and nothing else.

125·2 years agoOr they didn’t and social media are overreacting as usual, because hating AI and blockchain is trendy. Bitcoin is super helpful for those who are under the scrutiny of authoritarian regimes. These people are part of their user base. Not everything is about tech bros and buzzwords.
Don’t worry, tomorrow the market is closed!

Technology@lemmy.world•We finally know what caused the global tech outage - and how much it costEnglish
2·2 years agoThe company routinely tests its software updates before pushing them out to customers, CrowdStrike said in the report. But on July 19, a bug in CrowdStrike’s cloud-based testing system — specifically, the part that runs validation checks on new updates prior to release — ended up allowing the software to be pushed out “despite containing problematic content data.”
It is time to write tests for tests!

Technology@lemmy.world•Even Apple finally admits that 8GB RAM isn't enoughEnglish
72·2 years ago8GB is definitely not enough for coding, gaming, or most creative work but it’s fine for basic office/school work or entertainment.
The thing is, basic office/school/work tasks can be done on any laptop that costs twice less than an 8GB MacBook.

Technology@lemmy.world•Firefox Browser Blocks Anti-Censorship Add-Ons at Russia’s RequestEnglish
402·2 years agoI see a lot of gentle replies. I wonder if they would have looked the same if the browser in question was Google Chrome. The issue is that you can’t win this game. They ask you one thing, then another, then another, until you either fully comply or stop cooperating, and they block you anyway. That’s a reputational hit for the company and its product, whose only competitive advantage was its reputation.
My score is lower.
