  • Oh great, some wildly overpriced and underperforming GPUs.

Edit: went looking at Intel’s desktop GPUs and found this gem:

    Powerful AI Engines

Unlock new AI experiences with up to 233 TOPS of AI engine performance for content creation, real-time AI chat, editing, and upscaled gaming.3

And checked out the specs for performance of Intel’s top cards (B580/A770) against a basic 3080 card (no OC/TI, whatever) and the intel cards ranked well below the older 3080, and weren’t even in the ballpark against upper tier 4- and 5- series Nvidia cards. Plus missing features like DLSS, etc.

Good enough for non-FPS dependent gaming? Sure. Can’t beat the price, I was wrong about that. Want to play high-FPS demanding twitch gaming? No.

  • Only if you’ve been asleep and ignored the bots, troll farms, social media subversives interested in clicks (paid or otherwise), international interference using the same tools, billionaires pushing the media to tell lies or hide the truth.

What a useless article. We’re already overwhelmed with lies and half-truths. The only thing that’s going to happen is that a few troll farm employees are going to be out of work when they get replaced by AI.

  • A quality electric makes a big difference fwiw. I’ve gone through several types depending on where I lived. I gotta admit that gas is my favorite to cook on. Just so many ways to control heat, where the heat is, and how quickly the heat can be changed. Most electric cooktops and ovens are shit unless you buy an upper tier brand, and even then heating a big coil under a glass top is inefficient AF.

Just switched to induction. While not the same as gas, and it does have a few peculiarities, it is by far better than standard electric cooktops. Way fast, more efficient, easy. These need to come down in price to help win over people used to gas.

  • I would check that the print bed is heating evenly. Everyone has mentioned cleaning, that’s definitely a good start, too. But it looks like bands where it’s not sticking. From the image’s perspective, about 1/3 up is a band of poor adhesion, and then at the far end of the plate. IDK how the heating elements are designed, but that could be a. Issue. Otherwise the build plate is warped in almost an “S” shape. Some leveling will help, but not fix a warped bed.

Also, the material deposition looks very thin in general. Make sure the z-step is set correctly, slow down the first layer print, and make sure the temperatures of the bed and hotend are right.

I have an older printer with a warped bed and basically brute force the adhesion with a slightly thicker base layer and then normal layers after that.

  • Yep. It was headed downhill with the bots, reposts, karma farmers, hive-mind, troll farms, and of course the reddit c-suite “purging” the site of things like WPD, morbid reality, spacedicks (yeah, not subs for everyone, but noetheless…not hurting anyone), getting rid of Victoria, getting rid of mods and leaving petty power mongers and sycophants in place, and allowing shit like The_Donald and similar subs to run unchecked. The forced commercialization, crushing of protest and reddit app was the final straw.
