“The beatings will continue until morale improves”

What the fuck are these people using AI for that makes them do this stupid shit?

But Dixon wrote, rather cryptically, that remaining employees will put “more emphasis on our social channels as we accelerate our discussion with partners to take our content to where it will be viewed most broadly.”
In other words, the in depth reporting and niche shows aren’t making enough money, so we’re going to dump all that shit and jump on the reality TV bandwagon.

Found the Apple marketing person.

I have a question for the author of this stupid fucking article. What the fuck do you think half of the artists on the planet do? They use copyrighted images as reference when drawing fictional characters and they often end up looking very similar to the original. There are thousands of people on social media that sell these drawings on a regular basis.

IIRC, they have UV sterilizers for central HVAC systems. So while it may not sterilize surfaces, it will kill all airborne pathogens.

Google would have to burn the browser market to the ground before I’ll consider subscribing again.
They’re sure as fuck trying.

I know this is all just Elon’s ineptitude on full display, but there is still part of me that thinks he was paid by certain governments to tank the platform.

Those assholes should have never pushed the shit in the first place. Giving people the freedom to work from home and still live their life at the same time, then trying to snatch it away and force a return to the office, is clearly going to cause some serious push back. But these fucks were more worried about justifying their expensive office leases, than actually listening to and respecting their employees. A lot of those shit companies got what they deserved, empty offices, weakened workforce, and less overall productivity. Good job assholes.

Very good points. I have very limited knowledge about the inner workings of most LLMs, I just know the tidbits I’ve read here and there.
As far as quantum computers, based on my current understanding is once they’re at a point where they can be used commercially, they should easily be able to model/run artificial neural networks. Based on the stuff I’ve seen from Dr. Michio Kaku, quantum computers will eventually have the capacity to do pretty much anything.

I don’t think thats the case. If I understand correctly, the current issue is processing power, they can only load so much data before response time goes to absolute shit. I would think that layering different AI logic checks to verify statements made, recall previous conversations, and other mental processes that humans do automatically, would correct this issue. But with current technology its not even an option. My theory is that once quantum computers are actually finally realized and economically feasible, developers will be able to overcome the response time hurdle and all of the layered logic checks will be able to run simultaneously and instantly. My personal opinion is that I think the eventual layering of numerous AI models to overlap, check, and recheck one another, will be what brings on the emergence of what could be considered actual AI consciousness.

Who in the fuck do they think they’re fooling? There hasn’t been any sort of large corporate antitrust breakup since Bell Systems in the early 80s. They expect us to believe that after 40 years of inaction, suddenly they’re going to do their jobs again? This is nothing but pandering to pad approval ratings. I would love to be wrong, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

Any company that obfuscates all their security practices, refuses to give statistics on security risks and counter measures, and boils their product security down to “Trust us, bro.”, doesn’t actually give a fuck about your security. They’re just the last company who is still able to keeps everything secret so they can make shit up as they go along. Apple’s security is a joke and they’re just as bad as any other manufacturer on the market, the only difference is they have successfully kept their shit secret for all these years and spent decades convincing people they actually give a fuck about security.
I still remember a few years ago having a conversation with a coworker about her iphone and she bragged about Apple never being hacked and this was right after I had just got done reading an article about a large scale hack on their network. Of course Apple never said a damned thing about it, so I forwarded her the article. IIRC she mumbled something about how the article was probably not accurate. Apple fanatics do some crazy mental gymnastics to justify them spending thousands on a phone thats probably worth about $300 at best(their hardware is on average 1-2 generations behind other devices on the market).
Did you know that most celebrity phone hacks are thru apple accounts?

Yeah we’re quickly approaching a tipping point where people can no longer scoff at the idea of UBI. The more jobs that get automated, the fewer people working and pumping money back into the economy. This can only go on for so long before the economy completely collapses.

Oh man, this sounds like a repeat of the whole debacle with AT&T and their “5Ge” bullshit. As soon as the whole 5G hype started, AT&T decided to claim that their entire network was now “5Ge” and capable of faster speeds. When in reality the “5Ge” label simply meant that the network in that area was flagged to be upgraded to 5G sometime in the near future, there was zero increase in network bandwidth or performance, just a little “5GE” symbol on your phone. IIRC they were taken to court over it and ordered to stop using the “5Ge” label, but they figured out a way to weasel out of it and never followed thru.

I wish more of the larger subs were still protesting and didn’t roll over so easily. But regardless the site has taken a massive hit to its reputation and one can only hope that recovery won’t be possible moving forward and it screws them out of their chance to go public.
Honestly, I hope AI continues to improve and does actually wipe out large swaths of the job market. Maybe then countries will finally have to come to terms with the idea that capitalism is absolute fucking shit and finally consider some sort of UBI or other way to move away from the existing garbage of a global economic system.
What I don’t look forward to is the significant months/years these fucks take to make those decisions, and the pain and suffering it will cause to billions of people. Why do these assholes always have to be dragged into the future kicking and screaming?
