We need to develop an open, modular or all-in-one NAS with easily enabled services like Jellyfin, Navidrome, Paperless, Home assistant and so on.
With IPv6 we could avoid having to deal with CGNAT, but that could be solved as well.

Europe@feddit.org•Average one-way commuting time from home to work in EuropeEnglish
1·14 days agoI guess my constant would be a little lower then, this is the longest commute I’ve ever had and it’s supposed to be temporary, moreover I have remote work days on contract.

1·14 days agoI guess it depends on what you mean by “short”. It takes me 40 minutes by car to get to work if there’s traffic, 30 by motorbike or car with no traffic, 60 by bicycle and I’d need a shower when I arrive. Public transport would be over 60 minutes because of inconvenient line changes.
I used to cycle to work irregularly when I was nearer, but it wasn’t great: my city used to be a bike-first city, but nowadays there’s too many cars and the infrastructure hasn’t kept up, bikes used to go on the road, and now it’s not possible, bicycle lanes have been added but they’ve done a poor job, with frequent crossings and slow-downs.

Technology@lemmy.world•The future of Obsidian plugins - ObsidianEnglish
2·1 month agoIdk, I’ve never tried Obsidian so it’s hard for me to compare, essentially it’s a giant bullet-point database. You can add links or tags (they act the same) that act as references to pages, and opening those pages shows you all the references.
The idea is to write without thinking too much about it, and maybe going over it after you wrote to add links if you think it’s necessary. Personally, I wish I could join together OneNote (yes I know) and Logseq, because I like reasoning spatially and Logseq’s Whiteboards feature doesn’t click for me, but it’s good for writing down stuff in meetings and so.

On the other hand, this may allow me to root my LG WebOS TV?

Buy an Ikea cabinet with a glass door and put it in there. Doubles as an heated enclosure.
I knew MangoJelly but not this Deltahedra. I’m finding the latter’s video more interesting tbh, and less time-wasting.
you can’t just draw a cube and extend part of one face
I used to work with sketches in SOLIDWORKS and Inventor too, but those were just easier to use.
Still, it keeps improving, so fingers crossed.
I went from SOLIDWORKS to FreeCAD and I miss the former a lot, I think I’m objectively 5 times slower on FreeCAD, but alas, SOLIDWORKS is not supported on Linux and not open source, so I must endure.
Maybe it’s the Linux build? What are your running?
It’s improving faster. It’s still a frustrating, crashy experience, but it’s getting better quickly, hopefully it reached critical mass and will do Blender.

Yeah but as you said, that didn’t work so far
